Freestyle Madness in the Ditch

Although the conditions did not warant running the Freewave Final a great freestyle comp was run at Kio Bay in conditions ranging from marginal to near perfect. Tom Taylor and UK sidekick Pip showed us the full extent off their skills ranging from the spock to the no handed grubby and the chacho and coming 1st and 2nd respectively. Leland lebreton placed 3rd with some great spocks and James Court 4th pulling a never before seen boomerang tack. Carmen placed 1st in the womens event. Held in gusty conditions at Plimmerton, round three was the most entertaining yet. Clayton returned to form taking out the round with Tom Taylor fresh back from Europe taking out second place. Woo Norris continued his good form placing third.New Zealand Wave Nationals report
