The Wellington Windsurfing Association (WWA) is a voluntary, non-profit organisation run by windsurfers for windsurfers. Our goals are:

•  To promote our sport through instruction, competition, and social activities

•  To ensure Wellington has a safe and clean aquatic environment

•  To continue to develop and maintain the outstanding sailing areas in and around the Wellington region

Some of the many benefits provided by WWA membership are...

•  Great social events on the water and off the water

•  Instruction days for all levels of windsurfing from absolute beginners to expert freestylers

•  Competitive events including the Harbour Blast and annual slalom, wave and freestyle competitions

•  Affiliation to the New Zealand national organisation Windsurfing New Zealand

•  Representation on the Windsurfing New Zealand committee

•  WWA video library windsurfing videos available to members

•  Discounts on WWA events and event T-shirts

Most importantly, the WWA is a very active political voice for windsurfers, dealing with maritime authorities and local government. Successful projects to date include the preservation of beach access, and no compulsory life jackets for windsurfers. Work continues on maintaining beach access & rigging areas (in particular Plimmerton) and the Lyall Bay surf reef.

So join up and support this great sport in Wellington !
